Onward Technologies to open Chennai design centre, targets workforce of 2,000

Mumbai-based engineering services provider, Onward Technologies is expanding its global delivery network with an offshore design centre in Chennai. The centre, the company’s largest till date, will add to its dedicated offshore delivery centres and labs in Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, says an announcement to the stock exchange..

According to Jigar Mehta, Managing Director, Onward Technologies, the company is targeting a capacity of 2,000 employees in the Chennai design centre. “In response to the growing demand for offshore services from US and European clients, the company will continue to invest in its global delivery model. The centre will operate as an extended digital and engineering research & development (ER&D) team for our clients with training centres, software labs, and amenities for our employees,” Mehta added.

In an exchange filing, the company noted that its digital and ER&D experts at the Chennai design centre will support global clients in sectors such as industrial equipment, heavy machinery, and transportation and mobility industries.
