RMSI launches SaaS platform to generate early natural hazard impact forecast
Global geospatial and engineering solutions provider RMSI has announced the launch of SIRENNX, an AI-enabled natural hazard impact forecasting Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.
RMSI solutions help clients manage risks associated with natural and man-made hazards by applying innovative methods and global best practices, a company spokesperson said. It has three development centres in India and five fully owned international subsidiaries in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, and the Middle East.
Across various sectors
The advanced SIRENNX platform will empower businesses in industrial, commercial, utility, telecommunication, and insurance sectors by providing site-specific early warnings on hazards impact for floods, cyclones, landslides, lightning, and earthquakes.

Unveiled at the four-day-long Geo Smart India event that concluded on Friday in Hyderabad, SIRENNX will alert businesses with a lead time of 2-3 days for hazard events. With this lead time, businesses can implement risk-reduction measures to reduce impact from such events. In case of earthquakes, the system will issue an impact alert within 24 hours after the event.
AI, ML, numerical modelling
The technology has been designed by combining AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning) with numerical modelling utilising a wide variety of datasets providing inputs related to weather, topography, geology, land use, soil, people behaviour, structural behaviour and organisational behaviour, among others.

Pushpendra Johari, Senior Vice-President – Sustainability, RMSI, said, in the wake of climate change, natural disasters inflict severe challenges to private enterprises from structural losses to business interruption losses, slowing them down in their sustainability and net-zero journeys.
“SIRENNX has been created to give such enterprises a chance to boost their resilience against climatic events by implementing risk reduction measures and informing them of the potential impacts of climatic events ahead of time,” he added.
